You don’t know how it happens or where it comes from, but all of the sudden a song is produced… Music and words combined to create something completely magical… That’s what it’s like writing songs. One of Nashville’s best charms is it’s songwriters. Some of the best experiences I’ve had in Music City so far has been hearing other writers sing their truths and share their stories with a guitar and a microphone. There’s something so honest about a songwriter with just a guitar and a voice sharing what’s on their heart in a song. I’ve had the honor of being in the room with some incredible writers, and it always blows my mind what is created when two or three people with good vibes and guitars get in a room together. And we get to have a little fun capturing the memory after we finish ;)
Well, it’s safe to say that Nashville is definitely my home sweet home now! I love everything about this city. The lights, the music, the vibes… I’m finally settled in from the big move, and it can’t get much better than this! It’s amazing to live in a place that’s so culturally impacted by the music that I’ve grown up listening to my whole life. You see it in the town, in the songs, in the people… I went from jamming to classic country this morning to 70’s rock this afternoon. It’s so refreshing to see how music can impact people so much in their everyday lives. One of my favorite things to do is put on a good playlist, get in my car, and drive around with the windows rolled down and my hair blowing in the wind on Nashville’s back roads!
It took a big leap of faith and a full tank of gas to get me here, but I’m happy to call Nashville my home now! Moving from my little town of Waynesboro, VA where there’s farms and backroads everywhere you look to such a big city where everything you’ll ever need is right in your backyard is definitely something I’m still getting used to. It’s crazy to think how so much could change in 8 hours and 530 miles, but I’m loving this new world I’m in. I’ve traded the good ole’ Blue Ridge Mountains for the Nashville skyline, and have been embracing this new adventure in my life. Look out world, cause I’ve started a fire and this flame ain’t burning out!
